Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the BJP office bearers and party workers of Seraj Vidhan Sabha area of Mandi district through video conferencing from Shimla today said that they should strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the Centre and State government regarding preventive measures to be taken to check spread of Coronavirus.
The Chief Minister urged the party functionaries to educate the general public regarding preventive steps and also regarding various initiatives taken by the State Government for checking spread of this pandemic. He also asked the party workers to generously donate towards the PM CAREs and COVID Fund for helping the people during this epidemic. He said that the workers should also motivate others to donate generously towards these funds.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the second phase of lockdown till May 3, as there are several cases of COVID-19 being reported in the country. He urged the people to give their wholehearted support to this lockdown as it was for their safety.
Jai Ram Thakur also urged the party workers to download Arogya Setu app as this would go a long way in providing them all relevant information regarding COVID-19. He said that Arogya Setu is a COVID-19 contact tracing app developed by the Ministry of Electronics and IT and it detects and tracks the user’s movement with the help of GPS and Bluetooth sensors and sends out a notification if they come in contact with infected people by using its database and algorithms. Aarogya Setu Mobile App is an important weapon in the fight against COVID-19 and each one of us must download it, he added.
Chief Minister said that the party workers should also come forward to prepare and distribute face masks and face covers to the people. He said that it is not necessary to use surgical mask or any branded mask but the homemade cloth mask is sufficient to check spread of the disease. He said that the people should also be sensitised regarding this diseases and also they would be asked to not spread any kind of rumours.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the Party workers should motivate the people to avoid any kind of social gatherings and religious functions. He said that they should motivate the people to adopt social distancing even during doing their farm activities. He said thatcher party workers should also ensure that no one in their area goes without food, particularly care should be taken of labourers from other states.
