In a bid to study the new national education policy (NEP) 2020 and prepare an effective roadmap to adopt and implement it in the educational programs of APG Shimla University has adopted here on Monday. During a new batch student orientation program, APG varsity vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Kumar Choudhary addressed the students and teachers that a task force, under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor, was constituted on dated 10 th October of this year to adopt the new education policy after the notification of central government and implementation of new education policy by HP Government in HP schools and higher education institutions.
On dated 10 October, 2020, APG varsity task force, for implementation new education policy in multidisciplinary
courses of the varsity, had recommended it's suggestions to implement academic bank of credit at different courses at their entry and exit level, certificate or diploma in different under graduate courses in case student fails to complete his course and skill based certificate or diploma courses. Vice- chancellor Choudhary more added that new education policy will play a key role in making students, society and the nation a self-reliant. “In achieving self-
reliance, in making India modern, in the making of a New India and in converting India into a happy and prosperous nation, education plays an important role. “With this thought in mind, APG Shimla University has adopted
this new education policy and added it into new job creator and job-oriented programs, however, varsity is already running and forestalling such job-oriented foundation programs and courses”, said VC Ramesh Kumar Choudhary.
Choudhary said the new education policy will connect the youth to the roots and make them modern as well. Talking about adoption of technology in education, he said online education has become a way of life during this covid-
19 pandemic. Vice-Chancellor Choudhary said that APG Shimla University has become first university in north-India to adopt new education policy of government of India.
